Privacy notice

Important: VIRELLUNE does not currently have student accounts or a database. Do not enter real Student IDs or sensitive information about a student or minor. School, parent/guardian, and appropriate consent arrangements have not yet been established.
Information this version handles
- Reviewers, notes, generated study materials, quiz answers and attempts, flashcards, planner tasks, preferences, Focus playlists, YouTube favorites, and up to 20 recently played YouTube videos are saved in this browser's local storage when you use those features.
- VIRELLUNE does not currently register accounts or collect Student IDs, school profiles, or passwords. There is no developer dashboard showing individual study records.
- Data stored in a browser profile is not encrypted by VIRELLUNE and may be visible to other people who can use that browser profile or device. It is not a secure shared-device account system.
AI processing and service providers
When you request AI-generated quizzes, summaries, explanations, terms, flashcards, or exams, the notes and request are sent through the configured server-side Cloudflare Pages Function or Netlify Function to OpenRouter for processing. The OpenRouter API key remains server-side; do not put credentials or sensitive personal information in notes. Cloudflare, Netlify, and OpenRouter may process technical request data under their own terms and privacy policies. VIRELLUNE does not control their retention or processing practices.
Focus searches only VIRELLUNE's built-in catalog of original sounds synthesized in the browser; it does not search YouTube or send search phrases to a music provider. If you enter a YouTube video ID or URL, the video is loaded using YouTube's official embedded player. YouTube may process embedded-player requests under its policies and may show advertisements. Favorites and up to 20 recently played videos are saved only in this browser. VIRELLUNE does not scrape YouTube, bypass ads, or open YouTube pages.
Manual, local study features and generated browser soundscapes do not require an account. No audio files are downloaded by the Focus sound generator.
Where data is stored, access, and retention
Study records remain in the browser storage on the device and browser where you created them. They are not synced to VIRELLUNE servers or automatically shared with the developer or other students. Anyone with access to that browser profile may be able to view them. Browser data generally remains until you delete it, clear site data, or remove the browser profile. Exported backups are saved wherever you choose and are your responsibility.
The website host and AI provider process the requests needed to serve the site and generate requested content. This application does not currently provide a separate account-based retention schedule, student-data export service, or authenticated deletion workflow.
Your choices and deletion
You can review or export reviewers and study materials in the app, and delete individual saved items there. The control below removes all browser-local VIRELLUNE data for this site from this browser profile. It does not erase any copy you exported or any provider/hosting records. Clearing browser site data also deletes local records.
Children, schools, and future accounts
Minors may be part of the intended audience, but this development version has not completed school, guardian, consent, or legal review. Do not use real student information until those safeguards and the account/database configuration are approved. A future Supabase Auth/Postgres implementation is not active. Database row-level rules would restrict normal application access but cannot eliminate infrastructure-level access by privileged database operators.
Questions and policy status
This notice describes the current implementation; it is not a legal-compliance certification or legal advice. Before real student registration, the operator must publish a reviewed policy with the responsible organization and contact details, retention rules, provider terms, and applicable consent/deletion processes. For a Philippines deployment, review the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and relevant National Privacy Commission guidance with qualified counsel or the responsible school privacy officer.
